The ISR Matrix Senior Instructors Cadre on the road.
2014 MID-SUMMER YEAR IN REVIEW
ISR Matrix’s senior cadre of Instructor Trainers, Luis Gutierrez, Fletch Fuller and Ray Price, instruct the how and why behind our teaching methodology as well as ISR’s unique approach to functional fighting and transitioning effectively to tools at close quarters at the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA). In attendance, members from various state and federal agencies including the US Secret Service.
Special thanks to our good friend Tony Lambraia and Ultimate Training Munitions (UTM) & Phoenix RBT Solutions for their support at this year’s ILEETA Conference. The UTM Silent Blank Rounds (SBR) are the critical link between Defensive Tactics and Firearms helping integrate firearms manipulation realistically into the defensive tactics realm. ISR Matrix Vice President Fletch Fuller assisted by Ray Price, once again demonstrated more of the ISR to the PoliceOne video crew (www.policeone.com) which are currently available in segments for licensed LEO who join the site.
ISR Matrix Vice-President Fletch Fuller at the International Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor Association (IALEFI) Annual Training Conference in Amarillo, Texas instructing the Fighting Handgun module of the ISRLE/AF branches (Bridging the Gap between Defensive Tactics and Firearms).
Special thanks to LE Firearms Instructors Nicholas Locasto and Erik Nelson for their help in putting together and running this cutting edge class at IALEFI. Once again, thanks to Phoenix RBTS and UTM Ultimate Training Munitions for the support. The UTM SBR (Silent Blank Rounds) were a hit yet again.
Some comments from the students:
“Hands on with simulation before live-fire made this class excellent… invaluable!”
“The transition from dry, practice with UTM ammunition for real firearms was awesome!”
“Unusual, unique exercises were not what I expected. Bring them back again! They need more time!”
“Material is absolutely practical and the average officer could apply without extensive training!”
“This stuff will save lives!”
“Aspects of DT and Firearms that I never considered!”
ISR President and Lead Consultant, Luis Gutierrez, at the Real Self-Defense Center in Edmonton Canada for an extended three day ISR Physical Management seminar featuring more advanced elements of subject control and close quarter fighting to the already seasoned class of participants. ISR Regional Representative Calen Paine along with ISRPM & LE Instructors Bill Killinger and Ryan Lawless assisted demonstrating where the ISR Core Subject Control material goes after a functional understanding of the basics has been mastered. Off balancing, striking and throwing were shown in incremental and progressive isolated parts which were in turn integrated later through specifically designed drills and coaching through resistance and pressure testing. Counters, re-counters and plenty of reverse –engineering was shown to further strengthen existing tactics as well as deepen everyone’s understanding of why we do things as we do.
Thank you everyone for attending, especially all the ISR liaisons and instructors who always make our work so much fun and enjoyable while in Edmonton!
Luis Gutierrez visiting Reykjavik Iceland to run a 2 day introductory ISRPM seminar to licensed Security Personnel and Doormen and to introduce their Counter Terrorism Unit to some of the ISR’s LE and AF material during his seven days there.
Assisting at the seminar as well as working with Luis and Counter Terrorism Unit members were Jon Vidar Arnporsson and Daniel Orn Davidsson who earned their long overdue ISR Subject Control Instructorship. Jon and Daniel first started training with the ISR in 2006 and have done an outstanding job promoting and representing our quality of instruction among their peers and students.
Thank you friends and members of Mjölnir MMA (http://www.mjolnir.is/) for making our visit such a memorable one!
Erlensee, Germany with Luis Gutierrez introducing Europe to the ISR Matrix.
With a last minute surprise visit by Field Instructor and Australian Representative, Dave Pauli, this three day introductory course was able to cover many facets of the system thanks to having two instructors present.
Law Enforcement, Military, and Security Personnel from several European countries attended the three day intro to subject control (the ISR Matrix Core) with break-out sessions among the different groups to assure everyone experienced the relevant details of the ISR as it relates to their unique work and profession.
Seminar host, Jörg Brand, was granted Liaison status and his students and peers were as professional as they were enthusiastic about the training and its potentials for them. We see a great future for the ISR throughout Germany, Austria and Switzerland with Jörg and his crew leading the way as our initial and first representatives in Europe.
